Driveaway is a service that allows customers to transport vehicles from one location to another. This can include cars, trucks, vans, and other types of vehicles. The service is typically used by dealerships, manufacturers, and rental car companies to move vehicles between locations.
Auto driveaway is a method of transporting vehicles from one location to another by having a driver deliver the vehicle to its destination. The driver, known as a "driveaway operator," is typically a member of the general public who is paid to deliver the vehicle.
The process typically starts with the vehicle owner, such as a dealership or rental car company, contacting a driveaway company to arrange for the transportation of a vehicle. The driveaway company will then find a qualified driver, who meets the required qualifications, to deliver the vehicle.
The driver will typically be required to have a valid driver's license and a good driving record, and may need to pass a background check. Once the driver has been selected, they will be given instructions on how to pick up the vehicle and deliver it to its destination.
The driver will then take possession of the vehicle and drive it to its destination, following all traffic laws and regulations along the way. The driver will also be responsible for maintaining the vehicle during the trip, including keeping it clean and fueled.
Upon arrival at the destination, the driver will turn the vehicle over to the designated recipient and will typically be paid for their services. The entire process is closely monitored and tracked by the driveaway company to ensure the safety and security of the vehicle and the driver.
Overall, Auto driveaway is a cost-effective, reliable way for vehicle owners to transport their vehicles from one location to another, without the need for hiring a professional driver or shipping the vehicle via a carrier service.
The cost of Driveaway will vary depending on a number of factors, including the distance of the trip, the type of vehicle being transported, and any additional services that may be required. Customers should contact Driveaway directly for a quote based on their specific needs.
Auto driveaway locations refer to the specific locations where vehicles are picked up and dropped off during the auto driveaway process. These locations can vary depending on the specific needs of the vehicle owner and the driveaway company.
In most cases, the vehicle owner, such as a dealership or rental car company, will arrange for the vehicle to be picked up at their location and delivered to a specific destination, such as another dealership or rental car company. The driveaway company will then find a qualified driver to deliver the vehicle to the designated location.
However, some driveaway companies may also have their own locations where vehicles can be picked up and dropped off. These locations may include company-owned lots or garages where vehicles can be stored temporarily before being delivered to their destination.
Driveaway companies often have a network of locations across the country, allowing them to transport vehicles to various destinations. These locations can include major cities and towns, as well as smaller, more rural areas.
In addition, some driveaway companies may also offer international driveaway services, allowing vehicles to be transported to different countries. In this case, the pickup and delivery locations would be located in different countries, and the driver would be required to have a valid passport and meet any additional requirements to legally drive the vehicle across international borders.
Overall, the auto driveaway locations can vary depending on the needs of the vehicle owner and the services offered by the driveaway company. These locations can range from major cities to small towns, and even other countries, providing a wide range of options for transportation of vehicles.
Yes, customers can track their vehicles during the Driveaway process. Driveaway will provide customers with a tracking number and a link to track the location of the vehicle in real-time.
Fortunately, we haven’t experienced an accident, and we’re very proud of that. We believe our careful approach, diligent drivers, and proactive planning are to thank for achievement. In the event of an accident, our customer would be notified as soon as possible. Outside of the safety of the individuals involved, ensuring our customers are aware of the situation is a top priority. Everyone involved would then exchange information, a police report would be filed, and the owner’s insurance would cover any repair costs.
A driveaway service gives you the opportunity to let a professional driver handle the transportation of your vehicle from one place to another, typically in larger distances. A more traditional hauler, which we have all seen driving on the highway, places your vehicle on a truck (likely with other vehicles), which can take weeks to move. In the case of a driveaway service, your vehicle is personally driven to your destination. The clean-cut process allows your vehicle to arrive in much less time than a typical hauler can accommodate.
Definitely not. It would be unacceptable to return a vehicle with the smell of smoke in it. We do not allow our drivers to smoke in any of the vehicles they drive.
Your vehicle’s insurance actually covers another driver with your permission!
Certainly! We drive any and all vehicles for our customers. Between the two, we’d recommend Penske trucks so you can take advantage of their diesel fuel options.
TIP: Check out the Penske 22’ or 26’ if you are looking for a larger moving truck. Those sizes, in particular, typically take diesel fuel, which is more economic and dependable.
We use FuelEconomy.gov for everyday, personal, vehicles. When working with larger trucks, an estimation is easier to share transparently. We estimate 8 miles per gallon for smaller U-Hauls or 5 miles per gallon for 26-foot trucks towing a car.
Our long-distance driving service takes into account 14 hours of driving per day. As an example, in normal conditions, we can drive your vehicle across the country, from New York to Los Angeles, in a total of about 50-60 hours.
There is a multitude of factors that play a part in quoting any transportation needs. The time of year, flight process, cost of ground transportation, and more all have a large influence on our costs. Though there are external influences that have an impact on our costs, we do our part to give our customers the best rate by doing extensive research, which can take up to 24 hours to process before we provide you with an offer.
Definitely, but given we differ from a vehicle hauler in our service, both vehicles will need to be driven separately to their final destination.
We might be able to accommodate a same-day need but recommend scheduling ahead of time to ensure you get the service that best suits your needs.
Absolutely – we happily drive pets! All we need is a bit more information about your furry pal, but after that, we are glad to adventure with them.
Yes, so long as your vehicle is packed within safety standards, which we are happy to help with.
There isn’t a black and white answer to that as your location has a really big impact on moving truck providers. It’s also important to think about how much you plan to budget for a moving truck. Related to Penske and U-Haul, one isn’t more or less pleasant to work with, from a driver’s standpoint. It’s really a personal choice. Ryder and Budget are two additional providers, to provide options.
Cost and availability are your biggest determinants when looking for a rental car provider. We recommend finding the companies that are local to where you are and where you’re headed, then finding the provider that aligns with your budget from there. Beyond Budget and UHaul, some additional providers are Penske and Ryder, depending on the area.
Absolutely! We can support all of your moving needs, extending beyond simply driving.
We will! At Car Driveaway, we are happy to drive any vehicle you need help getting to your new destination.
Unfortunately, we can’t service all of the clients we would like. In peak season, we have to say “no” to some so we don’t risk sacrificing the service we give existing clients. We strive to give our clients the feeling that we’ve gone above and beyond, and that requires the right dedication to every client.
1. Don’t wait to fill up your gas tank until you get below a quarter tank, like you might at home. Gas stations can be few and far to come by on a long trip.
2. Keep your eyes safe and comfortable. Avoid eye strain by wearing sunglasses, and be sure to bring lubricating eye drops you can use when you stop for gas.
3. Keep your windshield clean so you have clear visibility when you’re driving. Bugs and debris can get on your windshield quickly on a road trip, but it can just as quickly be cleaned when you’re filling up your gas.
4. Be proactive with the weather. Weather can change dramatically over the course of a couple of hours on a long drive. Check the weather of the entirety of your route to avoid any surprises (or to plan a different route, if needed).
5. As much as you want to swerve for a bunny or squirrel, don’t. That quick jerk of your vehicle can be detrimental to you and the drivers around you. Stay safe, as sad as that may seem when bunnies are involved.
6. Avoid city routes when you can. The city will undoubtedly have more lights and traffic generally, so it’s best to stick with the highway as much as possible.
